One day, the Minister of Culture becomes interested in Christa, so the secret service agent Wiesler is instructed to observe and sound out the couple, but their life fascinates him more and more.

Synopsis: A story about the friendship between two men, about loneliness and the long convalescence of wounds provoked by passion.

Like everything else in this superb work of art, ''Shrinking Lover'' is exquisitely Pedro Almodóvarian. It's funny, tender, a little shocking, and it pays homage to what we know about movies: that they can move us beyond words.
